Thoughts

I'm fully aware that most decisions are made from an emotional perspective from our reptilian brain and then rationalized with our neocortex.

That's why I feel more than a bit of disappointment with my obsession of the Gigabyte Brix line of mini PCs.

I first bought one in Japan for $45 to use as a streaming box (and no, I'm not gonna tell you what I stream on it, nosypants).

It's honestly my favorite computer I've ever owned, for many reasons:

  • Extremely, extremely good looking
  • Extremely power efficient
  • Heavy enough to take seriously (sorry, Raspberry Pi)

As a result, I'm very strongly considering selling a bunch of my older tech and then picking up a Ryzen-compatible Gigabyte Brix and tossing in an SSD and HDD. Then I'd be able to use that as my home main and it'd also be my home computer.

Do I need a home computer? No. I don't even have an obvious place to put one. But I want one. Thanks, reptilian brain!
