Finding Ideas

One thing I noticed in my thirties is that software folk that feel like they've reached a point in their career where they'd like to build a SaaS don't have much domain knowledge.

So a big chunk of people get on Reddit to find subreddits of interest, where they tend to annoy communities by asking about what kind of software they'd like. I was certainly guilty of this.

More recently, I decided to help my aunt with her music school, an organization I've been involved with since I was a kid. I can see exactly where software can help in their processes, and that feels like a much better starting point for building.

There are existing solutions, but they're out of price. So perhaps innovation can exist on pricing, not on product? This might be my next gamble.
